SHRI AMIZARA TIRTH

  • SHRI AMIZARA TIRTH

The ancient name of Amizara was Kundanpur. From the inscription on the idol, it is learnt that this divine and miracle working idol of Sri Parshvanath Bhagwan was ceremonially installed by Sri Vijaysomsuriji Acharya’s own hands on Magh Krishna Tritya, in Vikram year 1548.Once, from the idol, ami oozed out in great quantity and it continued doing so for long and several times thereafter. The devotees therefore started calling the idol as that of Amizara Parshvanath Bhagwan. When Kundanpur village later came under the authority of Scindhia Kings, the king being impressed with there miraculous happenings changed the name of the village to that of Amizara. The idol is strikingly pretty and full of all facets of beauty. There is no other temple nearby.
