SHRI DHAVALI TIRTH

  • SHRI DHAVALI TIRTH

The antiquity of this shrine is assumed to be earlier that 13th Vikram century. This is evident because during the management of Abu-Loonsahi temple in Vikram year 1287 many Jain householders from this place had participated. This clearly implies that there were temples here during that time and this was a very prosperous and affluent city.It is very difficult to know when was the temple constructed and by whom. There is no inscription whatsoever in the idol. But from the art and style of the idol the antiquity of this place is quite known. The temple is very ancient. The temple was last renovated by Mirpur Bhojanshala Trust of Abugaud Samaj and got is consecrated at the hands of Acharya Padmasuriji, six years later. The antiquity of this place and the spendourness of the Prabhu idol is the significance of the shrine. This deftly crafted idol of the Prabhu is very impressive and mind-captivating. It is very difficult to come across such an icon anywhere else. There is no other temple besides this.
