  • SHRI VANTHALI TIRTH (VAMSTHALI)

Vanthali village was earlier known as Devsthali, Vamasthali etc. Looking at the ancient remains and ruins over here, it looks like this place must have been a huge and prosperous city. It is said that many pious Jain shravaks were born here. This is the birth place of Maharaja of 12th century Sri Siddharaj Jaisingh’s minister Kriyasheel and “Vratdhani” Shravak Sri Sajjan Seth. They took part in the renovation of Sri Girnar Teerth. It is also referred that the renovation of Sri Shankeshwar Teerth in Vikram year 1185 was got done by them. There is a reference that at the same time, Shreshthi of this place, Sri Sakaria got Jain temples built and adorned the idol of Sri Neminath Bhagwan with a necklace made of diamonds and emeralds. This is also the birth place of Shravak Sri Savchand Seth who got a temple built at the chowmukhji tunk of Sri Shatrunjay Teerth. His history is also memorable.Presently, there are only two temples over here. The ancient and vast main idol of Sri Sheetalnath Bhagwan is miraculous and beautiful. Looking at its art and architecture it looks like this idol must have been made by King Samprati. It is referred that King Samprati built many temples at various places. Hence looking at the remnants over here, it is evident that King Samprati built and consecrated this temple of Sri Sheetalnath Bhagwan even here. The temple got newly constructed and re-consecrated with miraculous event in Vikram year 1971.
