Shri Adeshwarji, also known as Adinath, is revered as the first Tirthankara in Jainism. According to Jain tradition, he lived millions of years ago, during the Ikshvaku dynasty, which is believed to be one of the earliest dynasties in Indian history. Adinath, born as Rishabhanatha to King Nabhi and Queen Marudevi, is credited with teaching humans essential skills for survival, such as agriculture, trade, and domestic crafts. His life marks the beginning of the Jain religious community and the propagation of the principles of non-violence (ahimsa), truth (satya), and renunciation (vairagya). After a long life dedicated to spiritual practices and teaching, Adinath attained Kevala Jnana, or infinite knowledge, and ultimately achieved moksha, or liberation from the cycle of birth and death, at Mount Kailash. His teachings laid the foundation for the Jain way of life, emphasizing ethical living, self-discipline, and spiritual purity.
