Inscription on stones reveal the ancient name of this place as Dehlana. On the pedestal of one Parikar in the temple there is an inscription on Falgun Sukla 3 in Vikram year 1172 which shows that the shrine belongs to a period earlier that 12th Vikram century.Every year on Falgun Krishna 6, a flag is hoisted here on the mast of the temple Sikhar. On this occasion a community fellowship dinner is organized.There is no other temple in the immediate vicinity. The idol being both beautiful and expressive spontaneously attracts the minds of the devotees.
