uttam kshma poster
Uttam Kshama means the supreme or highest forgiveness. In Jainism, kshama (forgiveness/forbearance) is a core virtue, and Uttam Kshama is the refined, ideal state of that virtue. It invites you to let go of anger, not retaliate, and respond with compassion—in thought, word, and deed. This is taught as the first Dharma among the ten Dash Lakshan (ten virtues) and is especially emphasized during Paryushan/Das Lakshan and Samvatsari/Kshamavani. There can be small differences in emphasis between Digambar and Shwetambar traditions, but both traditions prize Uttam Kshama as essential for spiritual progress.
