What does samyak mean
Samyak means “correct, proper, or perfect” in Sanskrit.
In Jainism it is most often used in the trio:
- Samyak Darshan = right faith or right perception
- Samyak Jnana = right knowledge
- Samyak Charitra = right conduct
Together they form the three key aspects of the Jain path toward liberation (often collectively referred to as the Three Jewels).
Both Digambara and Śvetāmbara traditions use these terms and emphasize that true spiritual progress comes from having the right faith, right knowledge, and right conduct in harmony.
