why that jeev came in rani chelna womb to take revenge with king shrenik, what is previous birth story

    one year ago 110

According to Jain tradition and scriptures, the story of King Shrenik (also known as Bimbisara) and his queen, Rani Chelna, is a significant one, especially in the context of karma and the cycle of birth and rebirth.

    The Previous Birth Story:

In a previous birth, it is said that King Shrenik and Rani Chelna had karmic relationships with various souls, and due to the workings of karma, a particular soul (jeev) was destined to be born as their son.

    The Story of Meghkumar:

One popular version, mentioned in Jain scriptures, is about Meghkumar, who was born to King Shrenik and Queen Chelna. However, before his birth as Meghkumar, in a past life, this soul was a man who was wronged or hurt by King Shrenik (in his earlier birth). The hurt or harm caused created a karmic bond of enmity (raag-dwesh). Due to this unresolved karma, the soul was drawn to be reborn in the king’s family, specifically in the queen's womb.

    Purpose of Birth:

According to Jain philosophy, birth in a particular family, especially in such a close relationship, is often a result of strong karmic ties, whether of affection or enmity. In this case, the jeev took birth in Rani Chelna’s womb to fulfill the fruits of past karma, and the feelings of revenge or enmity were a result of past deeds. However, through the influence of Jain teachings and the presence of Lord Mahavira, Meghkumar realized the truth of karma, renounced worldly life, and became a monk, ultimately breaking the cycle of revenge.

    Moral of the Story:

Jainism teaches that all relationships—good or bad—are the results of our own karmas. Revenge and enmity only bind souls further in the cycle of birth and rebirth. The ultimate aim is to forgive, let go, and walk on the path of spiritual purification.

Reference: This story is found in Jain texts such as the "Uttaradhyayana Sutra" and various commentaries on the life of King Shrenik and his encounters with Lord Mahavira.
