Nav ang jin pooja doha meaning
Nav Ang Jin Pooja (Nav Ang Puja) is a Jain ritual in which the Tirthankar murti is respectfully worshipped at nine specific body parts (ang), as a mindful practice to cultivate humility, detachment, and virtuous conduct on the path to Moksha. The nine ang are: right toe, left toe; right knee, left knee; center of arm, left arm; right shoulder, left shoulder; top of head; center of forehead; center of throat; center of chest; and the navel.
Key points:
- It is done after a prayer (often Navkar mantra or another mangalcharan) and includes reciting a short verse for each ang and offering a small symbol at the corresponding place.
- The sequence and exact verses can vary between Shwetambar and Digambar traditions and by local derasar practice. Always check the version followed at your temple or by your guru.
- The practice reminders include humility, restraint of senses, non-violence, and the virtues on the path to liberation.
In short, Nav Ang Puja helps a devotee turn inward, reflect on Jain virtues, and purify conduct as part of daily devotional practice.
