• Krishna is counted among Śalākāpuruṣa (great souls) in some triads, not as one of the 24 Tirthankaras. He is described as the Vasudeva in the Krishna–Balarama triad and is sometimes stated as a cousin of the 22nd Tirthankara, Neminath, rather than as a liberated guide like a Tirthankar. The core Jain path remains centered on the 24 Tirthankaras and their teachings, not on Krishna as a Tirthankar. There are differences in how Digambar and Śvetambar traditions recount certain hagiographies, but neither tradition treats Krishna as a Tirthankar.
