letter to God + 14 raj lok + thank jainism + deshna

    11 months ago 64

Here is a simple Jain-inspired letter to the Tirthankaras, with a brief note on the cosmology and a short deshna (sermon) you can share or reflect on.

Letter to the Tirthankara (Devotional note) Namo Arihantanam Namo Siddhhaanam Namo Ayariyananam Namo Ulhasam I bow to the Arihants, to the Siddhas, to the great teachers who have shown the path, to all the spiritual guides who help us practice right faith, right knowledge, and right conduct.

Dear Tirthankara, with folded hands and a quiet heart, I humbly seek your blessings. Please purify my ignorance, strengthen my vows, and illuminate my mind with non-violence, truth, and self-control. May I live with kindness to every living being, may I practice ahimsa in thought, word, and deed, and may my actions free myself and others from suffering.

I am grateful for the timeless Jain teachings that remind us to detach from ego, to seek purity of intention, and to walk the path of right belief. Help me cultivate detachment from needless desires, train my senses, and embrace self-discipline and compassion. May the understanding I gain lead me toward inner peace, truthful living, and service to the welfare of all beings.

With gratitude for the Jain path, I dedicate my efforts to the upliftment of all souls, and I commit to daily practice of ahimsa, truth, and restraint. May the wisdom of Jain Dharma guide me, and may I become a small instrument of peace in the world.

Deshna (short sermon) - core reminder

    • Ahimsa first: Choose non-violence in every action, even in thought. Our inner peace grows when we refrain from harming any living being.
    • Satya and self-control: Speak truth with kindness; have control over senses and desires. Discipline is the doorway to freedom.
    • Aparigraha (non-attachment): Let go of excessive possessions and ego. Simplicity brings clarity of mind and freedom of action.
    • Anekantavada (multiple viewpoints): Seek to understand many perspectives before judging; avoid rigid conclusions.
    • Karma and purification:Believe that every intention and action creates karmic results. Purify the mind through moral discipline, humility, and service.

Brief note on 14 Lokas (cosmology in Jain thought) In Jain cosmology, the universe is arranged in many realms. Beings can live in higher heavenly realms or in lower, more challenging realms depending on their karma. The aim of Jain practice is to purify the soul, reduce karmic bondage, and progress toward liberated state (Kevala Jnana) beyond all lokas. The focus is not worship of a creator but the steady cultivation of right faith, right knowledge, and right conduct to purify the soul.

Closing blessing May you be guided by the teachings of the Tirthankaras, may your heart stay compassionate, and may your path be steady and peaceful. May all beings find relief from suffering and attain true inner happiness through the light of Jain Dharma.

If you would like, I can tailor this letter to a specific Tirthankara (for example, Mahavira or other revered figures) or convert it into a short prayer in a particular language you prefer.
