how would you feel if a jain hurt you in all types of ways with their stupid friends and then suddenly everything is ok on forgiveness day

I’m sorry you’re feeling hurt. In Jainism, the aim is to reduce harm (ahimsa) and cultivate forgiveness and peace, even when someone among us has caused pain.

A Jain perspective on being hurt by someone who shares the same faith:

    • Acknowledge the hurt without blame. Pain is real, and recognizing it is the first step to healing.
    • Remember the vow of ahimsa (non-violence) includes thoughts, words, and actions. Hold the intention to heal without retaliating.
    • On forgiveness day (Samvatsari) and during Paryushan, Jains seek forgiveness from all beings and also offer forgiveness to others. This is not about denying the harm, but about freeing the heart from lingering negativity.
    • Practicing pratikraman (confession and reflection) helps purify the mind: acknowledge what happened, take responsibility for any own mistakes, and seek to move forward with a calmer, more compassionate attitude.
    • Embrace a path of forgiveness with practical steps: communicate when safe, set boundaries to prevent further harm, and focus on your own inner growth.

    Practical steps you can try:

    • Take a quiet moment to breathe and observe your feelings (anger, hurt, sadness) without judgment.
    • Write down what happened, how it affected you, and what you hope to heal or change.
    • If you wish to address the issue, consider a calm, honest conversation with the person involved, focusing on your experience and boundaries rather than blame.
    • Engage in pratikraman or a personal forgiveness practice to release residual resentment.
    • Seek support from trusted peers or a/community elder if needed.

If you’d like, tell me more about what happened and I can tailor some Jain-style guidance to your situation while keeping the emphasis on mercy, self-restraint, and inner peace.
