Is ragi allowed in ayambil
Short answer: Generally, ragi (finger millet) is not allowed in Ayambil.
Reason: In Navpad Oli/Ayambil, the daily meal is boiled and very plain, and the grains that are commonly permitted are listed as wheat, rice, barley, jowar, and bajra. Ragi is not usually part of the standard Ayambil grain list. Different sanghs may have small local variations, but the standard guidance widely followed in Ayambil does not include ragi. For the standard grain options, see the Ayambil guidelines.
Notes:
- Both Śvetāmbara and Digambara practices honor Navpad Oli, but exact local rules can vary. If your sangh has a different custom, follow their guidance.
