It is said that drinking water in early morning is beneficial for body.

Drinking water in the morning is not a separate doctrine in Jain scriptures, but Jain practice does guide how we drink water to avoid harm (ahimsa) to tiny life forms and to maintain purity.

    Key points from Jain approach:

    • Purified/filtered or boiled water: Jains are encouraged to drink water that is filtered or boiled to minimize harming micro-organisms. This is part of the broader ahimsa discipline. ( jainknowledge.com)
    • Chovihar (no intake after sunset until next morning): Many Jain traditions observe chovihar, which means no food or drink after sunset until the next sunrise. If you strictly follow chovihar, you would typically drink water only after sunrise, not at night. Different communities may have slight variations, but the general aim is to reduce harm during the night when unseen life forms are more active. ( jainknowledge.com)
    • Ekashana considerations: In one-meal-a-day observances (ekashana), the rules about when water can be taken are specific and can vary by Digambar/Shwetambar practice. Some follow consuming water only with the meal and then nothing until the next day, while others allow limited water during daylight. Your local guru or tradition will guide you. ( jainknowledge.com)
    • Boiled water “kaal” (how long boiled water remains usable): Many traditions limit the time you can use boiled water to minimize life forms developing in it; typically a day from boiling is common in many communities. Again, this is tradition- and guru-guided. ( jainknowledge.com)

Important note: There is no canonical Jain sutra claiming a medical “morning health benefit” for drinking water. The emphasis is on ahimsa, purity, self-discipline, and careful conduct around eating and drinking.
