I understand your point. In Jainism, there are two kinds of “journey” to keep straight:

    • The body’s journey (physical residence/place of living): This is a worldly, practical matter. Moving from India to Canada or any other country is simply a change of where you live.
    • The soul’s journey (spiritual progress): This is about karma, vows, conduct, and inner realization. The true path is about how you live (right faith, right knowledge, right conduct) and how your karma shapes future births.

So, if you’re thinking in terms of a logical flaw: the idea that “residing in a new place means a spiritual fault” is a misinterpretation. Jainism doesn’t condemn or require migration per se. It teaches that your spiritual progress depends on your actions and mindset, not on your address.

Key Jain principles to keep in mind while you relocate:

    • Right conduct (ahar, sallekhana concepts aside): how you behave, your honesty, compassion, non-violence.
    • Right knowledge: understanding the consequences of your actions (karma) and living truthfully.
    • Right faith: trust in the teachings and your own effort to progress spiritually.

If you want, I can explain how specific Jain teachings (like ahimsa, anekantavada, or the five vows) apply to daily life in a new country.
