Meaning (arth):

• This line distinguishes the monastic practitioners who follow the Jain path from the enlightened beings (Arihants) and the liberated souls (Siddhas).

Note: In Jain tradition, there are nuances between Digambar and Shwetambar interpretations of terms like Ayariya, but the essential sense is reverence to those who have undertaken and uphold strict ascetic vows.
