In Jain cosmology, there are 24 Tirthankaras in every half-cycle of time. We are currently in the ascending half-cycle (utsarpini). The 24th Tirthankara in this half-cycle is Mahavira, who is the last Tirthankar of this cycle.

After this half-cycle ends, a new half-cycle will begin, and the first Tirthankara of that next cycle will be Rishabhanatha (Adinath). So the “next” Tirthankar in the following cosmic cycle is Rishabhanatha.
