In Jain tradition, all Tirthankaras were born to worldly parents who were not Jains at the time of birth. None of the Tirthankaras is said to have had a Jain father. Their fathers and families were ordinary kings, princes, or others from the worldly world, who later followed or were influenced by the Tirthankara.
