Indrabhuti Gautam (Gautamswami) was Mahavira’s first Ganadhara (chief disciple). In his line, the next prominent Ganadhara who carried forward the tradition was Sudharma Swami (Sudharma). Along with him, Indrabhuti’s brothers Agnibhuti and Vayubhuti also became Ganadharas in Mahavira’s order. There are small differences in spellings between Digambar and Śvetāmbara traditions, but the general lineage is the same: Gautam Swami as the first Ganadhara, followed by Sudharma Swami as the next major figure in the lineage.
