How many people follow Jainism

Jainism is followed by approximately 4 to 5 million people worldwide. The majority of Jains live in India, where Jainism originated and has its largest communities, especially in the states of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Karnataka. There are also smaller Jain communities in countries such as the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Kenya, and other parts of the world, largely due to migration.
