Bahubali vs Bharata yudh is a Jain legend about two elder brothers, Bahubali (Rishabhanatha’s son) and Bharata, who agreed to settle their command over the world through three duels to avoid bloodshed.

• The three duels:

- Drishti-yuddha: Bahubali wins by withstanding Bharata’s gaze. - Jala-yuddha: Bahubali wins again in the water-contest. - Mallayuddha: In wrestling, Bahubali could overpower Bharata, and Bharata’s chakra would not harm Bahubali.

• After the victory, Bahubali is moved by the futility of pride and power. He renounces the world and begins renunciation (dikshā) and meditation. Over time, he seeks and attains spiritual progress (ultimately described as kevalajnana in many tellings).

• Bharata, showing great humility, worships Bahubali’s feet and proclaims that nothing of the worldly realm belongs to anyone. This humility helps Bahubali realize the deeper truth, and he attains full spiritual insight.

There are slight differences in emphasis between Digambar and Shwetambar traditions, but the core message is the same: pride defeats, humility and renunciation lead to ultimate spiritual realization.
