The first Jain is Rishabhanatha, also known as Adinath. He is considered the first Tirthankar in both major Jain traditions (Śvetāmbara and Digambara). He is believed to have lived long ago and to have established the Jain path, teaching key principles like non‑violence (ahimsa), truth, chastity, and ascetic discipline. He is also remembered as the father of Bharata and Bahubali in Jain legends.
