Relationship between neminath dada and shri krishna
337
Neminath (Aristanemi) is the 22nd Tirthankar in Jainism.
In Śvetāmbara Jain narratives, Krishna is described as a cousin of Neminath. Their kinship is part of Purāṇa-era stories, and Krishna is said to have visited or met Neminath when Neminath renounced the world on the day of his marriage.
In Digambara texts, the broader cosmology may include Krishna, but the cousin relationship is less central or differently emphasized; the core focus remains on Neminath as a Tirthankar and his path to kevala-jnana.
Important note: Krishna is not a Tirthankar in Jainism. The Krishna-Neminath connection is a feature of Jain puranic literature and devotional traditions, not a claim of Jainism about Krishna’s spiritual status.
