Queen Trishala is known in Jainism as the mother of Mahavira (Vardhamana). She was the wife of King Siddhartha and Mahavira’s father’s queen. Mahavira’s birth name was Vardhamana, and Trishala is revered as his mother in both Digambara and Śvetāmbara traditions.
