In Jainism, moksha (liberation) is the ultimate goal of the soul, attained by completely shedding karmic bonds through right faith, right knowledge, and right conduct. The tradition emphasizes that a human birth is the most favorable and common means to undertake this path and achieve kevala jnana (omniscient knowledge) and liberation.

Frogs and other non-human beings are jivas too, but ordinary Jain teaching holds that they rarely, if ever, reach the level of realization needed for moksha because they lack the conditions and long-term practice required to eradicate karma. Liberation is generally considered attainable for a soul that has the opportunity to follow the Jain path with diligence, which is most reliably available in human form.
