Can I drink water at midnight and do navkarsi in the morning?
Short answer: No. If you plan to observe Navkarsi, you should not drink water at midnight. Navkarsi starts after sunrise (about 48 minutes after sunrise), and typically, water or food is only taken after that window. You should have stopped water after sunset (sandhya kaal) and resume only after Navkarsi the next morning. Some communities also follow stricter rules depending on tradition, but the general practice is to abstain from water during the night and take it only after Navkarsi begins in the morning. If you miss the window, await the next Navkarsi morning and follow your local Sangh guidelines. Health and life protection always take priority. You can read more here and here and here
