Who is vinami
Vinami is a figure from Jain literature. He is described as the son of king Mahākaccha and appears in Hemacandra’s epic Triṣaṣṭiśalākāpuruṣacaritra (the lives of the sixty-three illustrious persons). This account is part of the Śvetāmbara Jain tradition. There isn’t a widely used parallel story about him in the Digambara canon, so interpretations or emphasis may differ between the two traditions, but the basic identification as Mahākaccha’s son in Hemacandra’s text is the standard reference in Jain literature.
