Can you give me niyam for everyday for 365 days
Here are the everyday daily niyams (rules) that many Jain shravaks/shravikas follow, often as a 365-day personal discipline. These are commonly practiced together, but you can adopt as many as you are comfortable with.
- Samayik Niyam: Practice equanimity for a fixed period each day (often about 48 minutes) to cultivate inner peace and self-control.
- Pratikraman Niyam: Do pratikraman (introspection and apology for any harm done) daily, usually in the evening, to reflect on one’s thoughts and actions.
- Swadhyay Niyam: Study Jain scriptures or listen to pure Jain discourses daily to strengthen knowledge and faith.
- Puja Niyam: Offer prayers or perform puja to the Tirthankaras daily.
- Daan Niyam: Practice charity—give to those in need, support Jain institutions, or help others.
- Brahmacharya Niyam: Observe celibacy or restrain sensual desires according to one’s capacity and life stage.
Notes:
- These six are commonly observed together and can be followed every day for a year (365 days).
- Some households add other personal vows or simple daily reflections, but the six above form a widely practiced core.
- In Digambar and Śvētāmbara communities, the spirit of these niyams is the same, though the exact practices or emphasis can differ slightly by tradition.
