• Nami (Naminath) and Vinami are related to Rishabhanatha as follows: they are grandsons (foster sons) of Rishabhanatha. They were born to King Kaccha and Queen Mahakaccha, and Rishabhanatha raised them as his own sons.
• After Rishabhanatha distributed his kingdom among his sons, Nami and Vinami returned to him seeking their share. Because he had taken a vow of silence, they satisfied themselves by worshipping him and then, with the help of Dharanendra (the king of serpents), were made kings of their own Vidyadhara realms and founded cities (one in the southern region and one in the northern region). This made them the first kings in those Vidyadhara lineages.
• In short: they are connected to Rishabhanatha as his foster sons and grandsons, later becoming notable Vidyadhara kings by his guidance and Dharanendra’s support.

Note: Jain traditions (both Digambar and Shwetambar) recount this story with small variations in details, but the core relation—Nami and Vinami as close kin raised by Rishabhanatha and later rulers under his auspices—remains consistent.
