Kalp what meaning

Kalp (Kalpa) in Jainism means a long cosmic period or eon. It refers to a complete cycle of time in the universe; Jain cosmology describes time in cycles and seasons, and one full cycle is called a Kalpa. The basic idea is the same in both Digambar and Shwetambar traditions, with any detailed subdivisions explained differently in their texts.
