In Jainism, "Brihat Shanti" refers to a significant peace or great peace prayer. The term "Brihat" means "great" or "large," and "Shanti" means "peace." The Brihat Shanti Path or Brihat Shanti Vidhan is a special religious ritual or ceremony performed to invoke peace, well-being, and auspiciousness for individuals, families, communities, or even the whole world.

This ceremony generally includes recitation of Jain prayers, chanting of auspicious mantras (such as the Navkar Mantra), worship of the Tirthankaras, and sometimes abhisheka (ritual bathing of idols) or other acts of devotion. The purpose of performing Brihat Shanti is to remove obstacles, bring harmony, and promote spiritual upliftment according to Jain philosophy.

It is commonly performed during major life events (like marriages, new beginnings, or after calamities) to seek blessings and maintain universal peace, following the Jain ideals of ahimsa (non-violence), shanti (peace), and kshama (forgiveness).
