Nokashaya (no-kashaya) means the absence or avoidance of kashaya—the six passions or defilements in Jainism. In common Jain usage, it refers to being free from the five main passions (anger, pride, deceit, greed, and attachment) and the related negative mental states. In this sense, Nokashaya denotes a state of spiritual purity where one has reduced or eliminated these passions through right understanding, conduct, and meditation.

Note: Jain texts and teachers may describe and emphasize this state slightly differently in Digambar and Shwetambar traditions, but the core idea is the same: overcoming kashaya to progress on the path to liberation.
