Navkarsi timing Bangalore
Navkarsi time is not a fixed clock time for all days – it depends on that day’s sunrise in Bangalore.
Basic rule (both Śvetāmbara and Digambara): Navkarsi = 48 minutes after local sunrise.
- If sunrise in Bangalore is 6:30 am ⇒ Navkarsi ≈ 7:18 am
- If sunrise is 6:45 am ⇒ Navkarsi ≈ 7:33 am
So for any date in Bangalore:
- Find that day’s sunrise time for Bengaluru.
- Add 48 minutes → that is your Navkarsi start time.
- First intake of water or food should be only after this time, and ideally after doing morning kriyā (Samayik/Pratikraman, etc.).
For a proper Navkarsi:
- Previous evening: best is to do Chovihār (no food, no water after sunset).
- Next morning: wait 48 minutes after sunrise, then start.
