In Jainism, Tirthankaras are spiritual teachers who have attained perfect knowledge (Kevala Jnana) and help others achieve liberation (moksha). There are 24 Tirthankaras in the current time cycle (Avasarpini). The current and most recent Tirthankara is Lord Mahavira (24th Tirthankara).
