    how will i atten moksh

    8 months ago 167

In Jainism, every soul (including you) can attain moksh. Very simple way to understand:

    1. First know clearly – What is Moksh?

    • No rebirth, no body, no suffering.
    • Soul becomes pure, full of infinite knowledge and bliss.
    • It stays forever at the top of the universe, called Siddhāshilā.

    ---

    2. Main Path: Ratnatray (Three Jewels)

To reach moksh, Jain Dharma says you must develop all three together:
    1. Samyak Darshan – Right Faith

    - Faith in: - Soul (jiv) and karma. - Teachings of Tirthankars. - Law of cause–effect (you are responsible for your condition). - Practically: - Avoid wrong beliefs like “violence gives real happiness”. - Respect true Guru, true Shastra, and true Dharma.

    1. Samyak Jnān – Right Knowledge

    - Learn correct Jain teachings: - What is soul, what is karma, what is paap–punya. - What leads to bondage, what leads to freedom. - Practically: - Read / listen to Jain scriptures. - Ask doubts to knowledgeable gurus. - Try to remove ignorance and superstitions.

    1. Samyak Chāritra – Right Conduct

    - Living according to Jain principles. - For layperson (shravak/shravika): - Follow small vows (anuvrat): - Ahimsa – avoid violence as much as possible. - Satya – speak truth that does not hurt. - Asteya – do not steal or cheat. - Brahmacharya – control over sensual pleasures. - Aparigraha – reduce attachment to things, money, people. - For monks/nuns – same principles but at the highest level (mahāvrat).

    ---

    3. Two Main Works: Stop Karma + Remove Karma

To get moksh, two things are needed:
    1. Stop new karmas (Samvar)

    - Control anger, pride, deceit, greed. - Control mind, speech, and body. - Be careful, aware, and non-violent in daily life.

    1. Remove old karmas (Nirjarā)

    - Do tapas (penance): fasting, limiting food, simplicity. - Pratikraman: accept your mistakes, ask for forgiveness, decide not to repeat. - Dhyān (meditation): focus on soul, reduce passions. - Practice forgiveness, humility, contentment, detachment.

When all karmas are finished, the soul naturally goes to moksh.

    ---

    4. What you can start doing now

Even as a normal person, you can move towards moksh by:
    • Daily:
    - Do Namokar Mantra with understanding. - Do Pratikraman (at least mentally: “Michchhāmi Dukkadam”). - Avoid unnecessary violence (food, work, habits).
    • Gradually:
    - Reduce anger and ego in home and work. - Choose more satvik, less violent food. - Do small fasts or upvas as per health. - Spend some time daily learning Jain Dharma.

    ---

    5. Digambar & Shvetambar – any difference in moksh?

    • Both agree:
    - Moksh = complete freedom from karma and rebirth. - Liberated soul goes to Siddhāshilā. - Path = Samyak Darshan, Samyak Jnān, Samyak Chāritra.
    • Differences are more in outer practice and details, not in the basic meaning of moksh.

    ---

In short: You will attain moksh when, through Right Faith, Right Knowledge, and Right Conduct, all your karmas are fully destroyed. This happens by your own effort (puruṣārth) using the clear path shown by the Tirthankars.
