In Jainism, kundali / horoscope (janma‑kundali, janampatri, etc.) is not a core religious concept and has no compulsory role in dharma or spiritual progress.

Very simply:

1. Jain focus is on karma, not kundali

- Whatever we experience (sukh–dukh, health, relations, wealth) is mainly due to our own karmas from past and present lives. - Jain shastras teach: change your thoughts, speech, actions → you change your karma → you change your future. - Planet positions shown in a kundali are not considered the deciding power over your life.

1. Astrology/kundali is not a main Jain doctrine

- Agamas and main Jain scriptures (both Digambar and Shvetambar) do not make horoscope‑matching or kundali‑reading a religious duty. - Things like manglik, doshas, etc. are concepts from Hindu astrology, not Jain siddhant.

1. Cultural use vs. religious requirement

- Some Jain families may still see a kundali for marriage, house‑warming, business, etc. - This is cultural / family tradition, not something required for punya or moksha. - A Jain can follow full dharma without ever making or matching a kundali.

1. Digambar & Shvetambar view

- Both traditions put purushartha (self‑effort) and karma at the center. - Neither tradition teaches that liberation or true progress depends on horoscope, stars, or planets.

1. What should a Jain rely on?

- Right faith, right knowledge, right conduct - Ahimsa, truth, non‑stealing, brahmacharya, non‑attachment - Prayer, samayik, pratikraman, swadhyaya, tapas These purify karma and truly help the soul; a kundali itself does not.

So, Jainism does not give kundali a deciding role. If someone uses it, it should never replace personal effort, ethical living, and responsibility for one’s own karma.
