is there a short verse on mothers in jainism
In Jain canonical texts there isn’t a very famous standard short sutra only about “mother”, like we have for Navkar Mantra, etc. But Jain tradition deeply respects mothers (especially Jina‑mātās like Marudevī Mata and Trishalā Mata).
So you can use a very short Jain-style verse in daily life like this (not from āgamas, but fully in line with Jain values):
Sanskrit/Hindi style verse (short): माता करुणामयी, अहिंसा की ज्योत। जैनी जीवन में, पहला पवित्र स्रोत॥
Simple meaning: “Mother is full of compassion, a light of ahimsā. In a Jain’s life, she is the first pure source of values.”
If you prefer something even shorter for children:
Very short line: माता अहिंसा की प्रथम गुरू। “Mā̃tā is the first teacher of ahimsā.”
These are devotional Jain-inspired lines, not scriptural sutras, but you can recite them respectfully to honour mothers in a Jain way.
