Kevalgyan place for Aadinath bhagwan
Bhagwan Ādinath (Rishabhdev) attained kevalgyān at:
- Place: Pūrimatālā (Purimatala)
- Near: Ayodhyā
- Tree: Under the Akṣhayavaṭ (a banyan tree)
- Time: On the 11th day of Phālgun Krishna (dark half of the month of Phalgun), after very long and intense austerities (tapas).
Both Digambar and Shwetambar traditions describe the kevalgyān place of Bhagwan Ādinath essentially in this same way:
- Janma (birth) place: Ayodhyā
- Kevalgyān place: Pūrimatālā near Ayodhyā, under Akṣhayavaṭ
- Moksha place: Aṣṭāpada (Mount Ashtapad)
So, the kevalgyān place for Ādinath Bhagwan is Pūrimatālā, near Ayodhyā, under the Akṣhayavaṭ tree.
