Jain tirth between mumbai to shankheshwar

    8 months ago 257

Between Mumbai and Shankheshwar (Gujarat), there are many Jain derasars and a few bigger tirth where yatris usually halt. Exact places depend on your exact route, but on the usual Mumbai–Surat–Vadodara–Ahmedabad–Mehsana–Shankheshwar side, important Jain places include:

Near Mumbai / Maharashtra side (start):

    • Many Jain derasars and gruh‑jinalay in Mumbai, Thane, Borivali, Vasai–Virar belt.
    • On the highway side, yatris often start with darshan at a nearby derasar in Mumbai itself, then move towards Gujarat border.

    Border & South Gujarat:

    • Talsari / Bhilad / Nandigram side – popular stop just before/after entering Gujarat, with Jain tirth and dharmashala.
    • Vapi / Valsad / Tithal side – several Jain derasars and tirth; many yatri buses halt here.

    Central & South Gujarat:

    • Navsari – old Jain sangh and derasars.
    • Surat – large Jain centre with many big derasars (various Shankheshwar Parshvanath, Mahavir Swami, etc.).
    • Ankleshwar / Bharuch belt – multiple Jain temples close to the highway.

    Vadodara to Ahmedabad region:

    • Vadodara (Baroda) – several Jain derasars and sanghs used as halting places.
    • Anand / Nadiad side – town derasars and dharmashalas.
    • Ahmedabad – major Jain centre (many historic and new temples; common night‑halt for yatris).

    North Gujarat towards Shankheshwar:

    • From Ahmedabad towards Mehsana/Viramgam side you pass many small towns with Jain derasars where buses sometimes stop (Mehsana region has quite a few).
    • Finally you reach Shankheshwar, the main Shankheshwar Parshvanath Jain Tirth, which is your destination.

Because there are dozens of small and big derasars on this route, Jain yatri buses usually follow a fixed “Mumbai–Shankheshwar yatra” schedule prepared by local Jain Sangh / travel organizers. For an exact, current list of tirth and dharmashala on your chosen route, it is best to:

    • Ask your local Jain Sangh in Mumbai.
    • Check with a Jain yatra/travel organizer who regularly runs buses to Shankheshwar.
