Navpad (Navapad) means “nine supreme pads (entities)” that we bow to in the Navkar Mantra.

The 9 Navpad are:

1. Arihant – The omniscient living Tirthankars who have destroyed all inner passions but still have a body.
2. Siddha – Liberated souls who have completely destroyed all karmas and live forever in Siddhashila.
3. Acharya – Head of the Jain sangh who leads and guides all monks and nuns.
4. Upadhyaya – Learned monks/nuns who teach scriptures and guide others in study.
5. Sadhu / Sadhvi – Jain monks and nuns who have taken great vows and walk on the path of moksha.
6. Samyak Darshan – Right faith / right vision.
7. Samyak Gyan – Right knowledge, free from doubt and wrong belief.
8. Samyak Charitra – Right conduct, living according to vows and discipline.
9. Samyak Tap – Right austerity, inner and outer tapas done with right understanding.

These nine are the essence of Jain dharma and are worshipped especially in Navpad (Ayambil) Oli and in Siddhachakra. You can read more here
