Wat to do if u have to handle kitchen chores 2 day of ur periods

If you have to do kitchen work on day 2 of your periods (usually the heaviest/most painful), try to make it as easy as possible for your body.

    Some simple, practical tips:

    1. Be kind to your body (Ahimsa towards yourself)

    - If you have strong pain, do only what is really necessary. - It is NOT a sin in Jainism to rest during periods. Taking care of your health is important.

    1. Simplify the cooking for that day

    - Make very simple food: khichdi, dal–rice, upma, daliya, simple sabzi. - Use less cutting/chopping – choose vegetables that are quick to cut. - If possible, prepare some things a day before (chopped veggies, dough, boiled potatoes).

    1. Divide work into small steps

    - Don’t stand for long at one stretch. - Do some work → sit and rest 5–10 minutes → then continue. - If you feel dizzy or very weak, stop immediately and sit/lie down.

    1. Use small supports while working

    - Keep a small stool or chair in the kitchen so you can sit while cutting or waiting for something to boil. - Use a hot water bag / heating pad on your lower abdomen or back when you sit to rest. - Wear comfortable, loose clothes so your stomach isn’t tight.

    1. Stay hydrated and eat a little

    - Drink warm water, jeera water, or light herbal tea (if you take it). - Don’t stay completely empty-stomach for long; it can increase weakness and cramps. - If you follow fasting rules, and your flow/pain is heavy, it’s okay in Jainism to adjust your fast for health. Health comes first.

    1. Ask for help if possible

    - If there are family members at home, request support: - Someone else can do cutting/chopping. - You can just do the final simple cooking. - Remember, periods are natural. You don’t have to feel ashamed to ask for help.

    1. Jain-dharm side (purity & rituals)

    - Jainism does not say you are “impure” or “untouchable” during periods. - You can go in the kitchen and cook; just maintain normal cleanliness. - If your pain is too much, you can keep shorter pooja / paath that day and focus more on shubhavichar (good thoughts) and rest.

    1. When to be careful medically

    - If your pain is so strong that you cannot stand, or you feel like fainting regularly, or bleeding is very heavy (changing pads very frequently), you should talk to a doctor. - You can also use doctor-advised pain medicine if needed.

In simple words: Do only what is necessary, keep cooking very simple, work in small steps with rest, take care of your health, and don’t feel guilty — in Jain dharm, caring for your body with awareness is also a form of ahimsa.
