    Padmavathi devi mantras

    8 months ago 526

Here are some commonly used Padmavathi (Padmavati) Devi mantras in Jain tradition, with simple meanings:

    1. Main Padmavati Devi mantra (very common)
    • In Sanskrit:
    ॐ ह्रीं श्रीं क्लीं ऐं ह्रीं श्रीं क्लीं सिद्ध्यै नमः।
    • Transliteration:
Om Hrim Shrim Klim Aim Hrim Shrim Klim Siddhyai Namah।

    Arth (meaning in Jain way):

    • Om – sacred sound, salutation in the spirit of Namokar Mantra.
    • Hrim / Shrim / Klim / Aim – beej (seed) mantras invoking Padmavati Devi’s shakti for purity, auspiciousness, attraction towards dharma, and right knowledge.
    • Siddhyai – for attainment of spiritual accomplishments and removal of inner obstacles (kashayas).
    • Namah – I bow with respect.

Use: Chanted for protection, removal of obstacles, and spiritual progress, always with Jain values (ahimsa, truth, self‑control).

    1. Short/simpler Padmavati mantra
    • ॐ पद्मवत्यै नमः।
    • Om Padmavatyai Namah।

Meaning: “I bow to Padmavati Devi.” Use: Very simple for daily smaran (remembrance) with shuddha bhav.

    1. Beej-mantra style (used in some Digambar & Shvetambar lineages)
    • Om Hrim Shrim Klim Aim Sauh Padmavatyai Namah।

    Meaning in brief:

    • Om – respectful salutation.
    • Hrim – purity and compassion, burning inner impurities.
    • Shrim – auspiciousness and spiritual “wealth” (good guna).
    • Klim – attraction towards dharma, vairagya, and restraint.
    • Aim – right knowledge and clarity.
    • Sauh – protection of dharma and fearlessness in following it.
    • Padmavatyai Namah – bowing to Padmavati, shasan devi of Parshvanath, for removal of inner obstacles and firmness in samyak darshan–jnan–charitra.

    1. Very small daily mantra (often taught for easy practice)
    • ॐ पद्मावतीये नमः।
    • Om Padmavatīye Namah।

    Tradition notes (Digambar / Shwetambar):

    • Both traditions accept Padmavati as the Yakshini (shasan devi) of Bhagwan Parshvanath.
    • Exact mantras and longer stotras (Padmavati Stotra, Ashtak, Chalisa, etc.) can differ slightly by sect and guru‑parampara, but purpose is same: protection, removal of obstacles, and help in walking on the path of dharma – not for greed or harmful wishes.

How to recite (simple Jain way):

    1. Start with Navkar Mantra.
    2. Sit clean, with peaceful mind and non‑violent bhav.
    3. Chant slowly and clearly (9, 21, 27, or 108 times) with focus on:

    - samyak shraddha (right faith) - ahimsa, satya, aparigraha

    1. Do not use mantra for himsa, revenge, or extreme material desires.
    2. For special/bigger sadhanas, always take guidance from a knowledgeable Jain sadhu, sadhvi, or scholar.
