Is chicken more tasty or mutton
In Jain Dharma, we do not compare the taste of chicken and mutton, because both are completely prohibited.
From a Jain point of view:
- Chicken and mutton both come from hinsa (violence) against living beings.
- Eating them increases kashayas (anger, pride, deceit, greed) and binds heavy paap karma.
- Running after taste (ruchi) of such foods strengthens raga (attachment), which takes us away from the path of ahimsa and sadhana.
So, the real Jain answer is:
- The question is not “Which is more tasty?”
- The right question is, “How can I reduce hinsa and control my tongue (indriya) to purify my soul?”
According to Jain principles, both chicken and mutton should be completely avoided, and we should move towards satvik, vegetarian, and as far as possible, ahimsak food, focusing on spiritual progress rather than taste.
