    FULL ISHVAKU DYNSITY RAJA NAME

    8 months ago 268

Ikshvaku (Ishvaku) vansh is mainly a Jain-cosmology topic, but a complete chronological list of all Ikshvaku kings is not preserved in Jain scriptures the way political history books try to do it. So I cannot honestly give you a “full” list of every Ikshvaku raja.

In Jain tradition, you should remember these key points instead of a long king‑list:

    1. Founder of Ikshvaku dynasty

    - Ikshvaku vansh (Suryavansh / Solar dynasty) is linked with Bhagwan Rishabhdev (Adinath). - In Jain texts, he is born at Ayodhya, also called Ikshvaku-bhumi and is considered the starting point of this line. You can read about Ayodhya Tirth here

    1. Meaning of Ikshvaku dynasty in Jainism

    - “Ikshvaku vansh” = “Suryavanshi kul” = the Solar dynasty. - Many Tirthankars are said to be Ikshvaku-vanshi (born in this kul), especially in the earlier eras.

    1. Important Jain figures from Ikshvaku line

(Lists vary slightly by text and sect, but in general:) - Rishabhdev (Ādinath) – considered the origin of the Ikshvaku line. - Several other Tirthankars like Padmaprabhu, Suparshvanath, Abhinandannath, etc., are also described as Ikshvaku-vanshi in Jain genealogies. - Many Chakravartis (universal emperors) are also shown as belonging to this Solar dynasty in Jain cosmology.

    1. Difference from Hindu lists

    - Hindu Puranas give a very long political list of Ikshvaku kings (Harishchandra, Raghu, Dasharatha, etc.). - Jain Dharma does not focus on that full political list; it focuses on: - Kul / vansh of Tirthankars, - Chakravarti, Balabhadra, Vasudev, etc. - Therefore, Jain scriptures do not preserve a “full list of every Ikshvaku raja” in the historical-chronological way you may be expecting.

So, from a purely Jain point of view:

    • Remember Ikshvaku = Suryavansh = Rishabhdev’s lineage.
    • Know that many Tirthankars and great Jain heroes are Ikshvaku‑vanshi.
    • But do not expect an exact, agreed, “complete” king‑by‑king list from Jain texts; that is not the main aim of Jain scriptures.
