In Jain Dharma, especially in the Digambar tradition, caste is not a valid reason to refuse gochari (aahar).

What matters for a Digambar Muni when taking aahar?

A Digambar muni can take food from a grihasth (householder) if these main conditions are followed:

1. Ahimsa (Non-violence)

- Food should be prepared with minimum possible violence. - No night-cooking, no leftover from previous night, no raw root-vegetables, etc., as per their achar.

1. Shuddhi (Purity of food & giver)

- Food is not prepared specially for a particular muni by order, but as normal household food. - No business/expectation in return; only pure bhav of daan. - The giver should not be intoxicated, extremely angry, or in very wrong conduct at that moment.

1. Samyak Bhav (right attitude of the giver)

- Respectful, shraddha-bhav towards Dharma and sadhu. - Not giving with hatred, show-off, or pressure.
