I m matang want to come back to Jainism suggest me

    7 months ago 123

First, it is very beautiful that you want to come back to Jain Dharma. In Jainism, varna, caste, or jaati (e.g. Matang) is not a barrier for following true dharma. The soul is beyond caste – every jiva has the same potential for moksha.

Here is a simple, practical way to return to Jain path step‑by‑step:

    ---

    1. Start with Namokar Mantra daily

Even if you do nothing else in the beginning, do this:
    • Sit peacefully for 5–10 minutes.
    • Recite:
    - “ॐ नमः सिद्धेभ्यः” or full णमोकार मंत्र if you know it.
    • Do it:
    - Morning after bath - Night before sleep With simple feeling: “I bow to all pure souls, may my soul also become pure.”

You can read / listen to Jain sutras and mantras here

    ---

    2. Slowly bring Ahimsa into your life

Try to increase non‑violence step by step:
    1. Food

    - If you eat meat/eggs – try to reduce, then stop. - Avoid alcohol and addiction (these increase violence and greed). - Try to avoid root vegetables if possible (ideal Jain practice), but don’t force too fast. Go gradually.

    1. Speech & behaviour

    - Avoid anger, harsh words, lying, cheating. - Practice forgiveness – “मिच्छामि दुक्कडं” from heart.

    ---

    3. Follow small Anuvrats (small vows) as a lay Jain

You don’t need to become a sadhu to be Jain. As a shravak/shravika, start with:
    1. Try to not kill any living being intentionally.
    2. Speak truth as much as possible.
    3. Avoid stealing.
    4. Control sexual misconduct (stay pure in relations).
    5. Limit possessions and greed (simple living).

These are small forms of the Panch Mahavrat. You can read about them here

    ---

    4. Re‑connect with Jain Sangh / Temple

    If possible:
    • Visit a nearby Jain temple (derasar/basadi) regularly.
    • Do:
    - Darshan of Tirthankar - Sit quietly for a few minutes - If you know, do Samayik or just peaceful meditation.
    • If there are pravachans / pathshala, attend when you can.

Satsang will give you strength and clarity.

    ---

    5. Learn basic Jain principles slowly

You can study in very simple language:
    • Who is Atma (soul)?
    • What is Karma?
    • What are three jewels – Samyak Darshan, Samyak Jnan, Samyak Charitra?
    • Why Ahimsa, Aparigraha (non‑possessiveness) are important?

A simple introduction to Jain Dharma in easy Hindi is here

    ---

    6. Don’t feel guilty – feel grateful

If earlier you were away from Jainism:
    • Don’t drown in guilt.
    • In Jain view, turning back towards dharma itself is a very good punya.
    • From today onwards, try to:
    - Reduce new bad karma, - Increase good thoughts, forgiveness, and compassion.

Even if family or society sees caste, Jain Tirthankars see only the soul. Many great Jain devotees in history came from different backgrounds, but by right faith and conduct they rose very high.

    ---

    7. Simple daily routine you can try

If you want a very basic daily schedule:
    • Morning
    - Bath - 5–10 min Namokar Mantra / silence - Take a small vow: “Today I will try to hurt no one by mind, speech, or body.”
    • Daytime
    - Practice honesty, non‑violence, and simplicity in work and home. - Avoid unnecessary anger, arguments, and gossip.
    • Night
    - Remember the day. - If you hurt anyone, mentally say: “Michchhami Dukkadam.” - 5–10 min Namokar Mantra or Pratikraman (if you know it).

    ---

    If you tell me:

    • Your age (roughly),
    • Whether your family is Jain or you are alone in this path,
    • And how much practice you are already doing,

I can suggest an even simpler, custom daily plan for you.
