    Digamber jain festivals list with dates

    Here is a simple list of major Digambar Jain festivals in 2026 with Gregorian dates (as per commonly used Jain panchangs in India). Note: Local sangh/calendar may differ by 1 day, so always confirm with your local temple.

    1. Mahavir Janma Kalyanak (Mahavir Jayanti) – Birth of Bhagwan Mahavir

    Date: 31 March 2026 (Tuesday)
    • Very important festival for all Jains.
    • Special pooja, rath‑yatra, and prabhu-bhakti in temples.

    2. Parshvanath Nirvan Divas

    Date: 19 August 2026 (Wednesday)
    • Remembrance of Bhagwan Parshvanath’s moksha.
    • Many Digambar temples do special pooja and swadhyaya.

    3. Daslakshan Parva (Digambar Paryushan)

    Main Digambar festival of the year
    • Daslakshan Parva:
    15 September 2026 (Tuesday) – 25 September 2026 (Friday) - 10 days for the 10 dharmas: Kshama, Mardav, Arjava, Shauch, Satya, Sanyam, Tap, Tyag, Akinchanya, Brahmacharya. - Fasting, swadhyaya, pratikraman, and listening to pravachans.
    • Kshamavani Parva (Forgiveness Day – Digambar)
    16 September 2026 (Wednesday) - Day of “Micchami Dukkadam” – asking and giving forgiveness. - Many do special pratikraman and visit each other or call/message for kshama-yachna.

    4. Mahavir Nirvan Kalyanak (Diwali – Jain Deepavali)

    Date: 9 November 2026 (Monday)
    • Day of Bhagwan Mahavir’s moksha.
    • Deepak lighting, nirvan-laddu, listening to Uttaradhyayan and other agams/ granths.

    5. Gyan Panchami / Saubhagya Panchami

    Date: 14 November 2026 (Saturday)
    • Day for worship of Jain scriptures and knowledge (shruta-gyan).
    • Many people start new swadhyaya, do pooja of pustaks and granths.

    6. Ashtanhika Parva (8‑day Digambar parva – three times a year)

    These are special 8‑day parvas connected to Sammed Shikharji and other kshetras.

    • First Ashtanhika:
    24 February – 3 March 2026
    • Second Ashtanhika:
    21 July – 29 July 2026
    • Third Ashtanhika:
    17 November – 24 November 2026

    During Ashtanhika: extra pratikraman, pooja, vidhan, swadhyaya, and fasting.

    7. Ayambil Oli (Navapad / Oli Parva – mainly by Shwetambar, but many Digambar also observe)

    • Chaitra Ayambil Oli:
    25 March – 2 April 2026
    • Ashwin Ayambil Oli:
    16 October – 26 October 2026

    Ayambil = very simple one‑time meal with strict restrictions, done for inner purity and tapa.

    • 15 January 2026 – Shitalnath Janma Tapa
    • 16 January 2026 – Meru Trayodashi & Adinath Nirvan Kalyanak
    • 17 January 2026 – Rishabhdev Moksha
    • 25 January 2026 – Maryada Mahotsav (discipline in sangh & sadhu-sadhvi maryada)
    • 26 April 2026 – Mahavir Swami Keval‑gyan Divas
    • 3 December 2026 – Mahavir Swami Diksha Kalyanak
