In Shwetambar Jain tradition there is no specific compulsory shastriya ritual exactly at 6 months of age.

What usually happens is:

• Soon after birth (within days/weeks)

- Jatakarma / Chatti type ceremony – welcoming the baby. - Namkaran (naming) – often around 6th, 11th, 12th day etc. (varies by family and local custom).

• Around 0–6 months

There is generally no fixed Jain “6‑month ceremony” laid down in scriptures. Families sometimes do, as a matter of family / community custom: - First Derasar (temple) darshan with the baby, when mother and child are healthy. - Simple Snatra Puja or Navkar Mantra jaap for the child’s shubh bhavishy. - Elders’ āshirvād (blessings) and small dān / charity in the name of the child.

These are optional, cultural practices, not mandatory religious rules. From a Jain point of view, for a 6‑month‑old baby the best “ritual” is:

• Keep a peaceful, ahimsa‑based home
• Gently chant Navkar Mantra near the baby
• Live satya (truth), ahimsa, and simple living – the child absorbs these from parents.
