give me script for Namokar dhyan
Here is a very simple Namokar (Navkar) Dhyan script you can use for daily meditation. You can read it slowly and follow it step‑by‑step.
---
1. Preparation (1–2 minutes)
- Sit comfortably with straight spine.
- Keep eyes gently closed.
- Take 3 slow, deep breaths:
Think in mind: “Right now I will remember the Panch Parmeshti with shraddha. I let go of all worries.”
---
2. Centering on the Breath (1–2 minutes)
- Breathe normally.
- Just watch the breath going in and out.
- If thoughts come, gently bring attention back to the breath.
In mind you can think: “Breath is calm… mind is calm… I am preparing for Namokar dhyan.”
---
3. Navkar / Namokar Mantra (5–10 minutes)
You may chant aloud or mentally:
Original (Prakrit): णमो अरिहंताणं। णमो सिद्धाणं। णमो आयरियाणं। णमो उवज्झायाणं। णमो लोए सव्वसाहूणं॥
If you wish, you can also add: एसो पंच नमोक्कारो, सव्व पावप्पणासणो। मंगलाणं च सव्वेसिं, पढमं हवई मंगलं॥
While chanting, do this bhāv (inner feeling) line by line:
- णमो अरिहंताणं
- Visualize: a bright, peaceful Arihant Bhagwan, free from anger, pride, deceit, greed. - Bhāv: “I bow to all Arihants. May I also reduce my krodh, mān, māyā, lobh.”
- णमो सिद्धाणं
- Visualize: pure radiant souls in siddha-shilā, without body, without any karma. - Bhāv: “I bow to all Siddhas. They show that complete liberation is possible.”
- णमो आयरियाणं
- Visualize: Acharya Bhagwants guiding the whole sangh on the path of vows and discipline. - Bhāv: “I bow to all Āchāryas. May I follow discipline in my own small way.”
- णमो उवज्झायाणं
- Visualize: Upādhyāyas teaching scriptures with great purity and patience. - Bhāv: “I bow to all Upādhyāyas. May I develop right knowledge and study shastra.”
- णमो लोए सव्वसाहूणं
- Visualize: all sadhus–sādhvīs doing sādhana, vrata, and tap all over the universe. - Bhāv: “I bow to all sādhus and sādhvīs. May I also walk, step‑by‑step, on the path of self‑control and ahimsā.”
- एसो पंच नमोक्कारो…
- Bhāv: “This five‑fold bowing destroys karmic sins and is the highest mangal. May this meditation purify my dravya (actual) and bhāva (intentions).”
Continue repeating the mantra slowly with this feeling. Do not rush.
---
4. Silent Contemplation (2–5 minutes)
After finishing the chanting:
- Become completely silent.
- Do not repeat any words now.
- Just feel:
If mind wanders, gently bring it back to: “I bow to the virtues of Arihant, Siddha, Āchārya, Upādhyāya, Sādhu.”
---
5. Closing (1 minute)
End with a short prayer in your own words, for example:
“By the small punya of this Namokar dhyan, may my mithyātva (wrong belief) reduce, may samyak darshan, samyak jñān, samyak chāritra grow, may I not hurt any living being in thought, word, or deed.”
Then slowly open your eyes.
---
Notes according to tradition
- Both Digambar and Shwetambar follow Navkar / Namokar Mantra and do dhyan on Panch Parmeshti in the same spirit.
- There may be small pronunciation differences (like “उवज्जायाणं” vs “उवज्झायाणं”), but meaning and meditation bhāv are identical.
---
If you want a short, daily version:
- Sit quietly for 5 minutes.
- Do 9 or 27 repetitions of Navkar Mantra with the above five bhāvs.
- Sit silently for 1–2 minutes as śuddha ātmā.
