give sript for doing dhyan of sutra one of Bhaktamber

    7 months ago 137

Here is a simple script you can use for doing dhyan (meditation) on the 1st sutra (gāthā) of Bhaktāmbar.

    ---

    1. First sutra (text)

    Sanskrit (Devanāgarī):

    Simple Hindi-style pronunciation:

    Bhaktāmar–praṇata–mauli–maṇi–prabhāṇā- muddyotakaṃ dalita–pāpa–tamo–vitānam । samyak praṇamya jina–pāda–yugaṃ yugādā- vālambanaṃ bhava–jale patatāṃ janānām ॥1॥

    ---

    2. Simple arth (meaning)

    In very simple words:

    • I bow to the two feet of Jinendra Bhagwān (Ādināth Bhagwān),
    • whose radiance makes the jewels in the crowns of bowed devas shine even more,
    • whose light destroys the darkness of sins (pāpa–karma),
    • whose feet became, from the very beginning of this era,
a strong support (ālambana) for all living beings who are drowning in the ocean of birth and death (bhav-jal).

    Essence for dhyān:

    > “Jinendra Bhagwān ke pavitra charan > mere saare pāp-andhakār ko door karne wale, > aur saṃsār-sāgar me ḍubte jīvon ke liye > ek majbūt sahārā haiṅ.”

Both Digambar and Shvetāmbara traditions accept this 1st gāthā in the same way. Only the total number of verses is different (48 vs 44), not the basic meaning here.

    ---

    3. Short preparation (2–3 minutes)

    1. Place:

    - Sit in a clean, quiet place. - If possible, sit facing an idol or picture of Ādināth / Jinendra Bhagwān.

    1. Posture:

    - Sit cross-legged on āsan, or on a chair with straight back. - Keep head, neck and back comfortably straight. - Hands in lap or namaskār mudrā.

    1. Begin with Navkār Mantra (at least 3, 9, or 27 times) slowly, with full attention.

    ---

    4. Dhyan script on 1st sutra (step-by-step)

You can read this slowly to yourself, or someone can guide a group with it.

    Step 1 – Calm breathing

    • Gently close your eyes.
    • Take 3 slow deep breaths:
    - Inhale: count 1–4 - Exhale: count 1–6
    • Let the body relax, but keep the spine straight.

Mentally think: “Main ab Jinendra Bhagwān ke charanoṅ par dhyān kar rahā/rahī hūṅ.”

    ---

Step 2 – Remember the meaning

Silently recite (inside your mind) or softly chant:

    > भक्तामर-प्रणत-मौलि-मणि-प्रभाणा- … (full 1st gāthā)

Then think in very simple language:

    > “Bhagwān ke charan aise haiṅ > jo sab devtāoṅ ke mukut ki jyoti ko bhī nikhār dete haiṅ. > Unkī prakāsh se mere andhar kā pāp-andhakār miṭtā hai. > Jo saṃsār-sāgar me ḍub rahe haiṅ, > un sab ke liye Bhagwān ke charan ek majbūt sahārā haiṅ.”

Stay with this feeling for a few breaths.

    ---

    Step 3 – Visualisation of Bhagwān’s feet

    Now, with closed eyes:

    1. Imagine a very pure, white, shining pair of feet –

Jinendra Bhagwān ke charan – on a clean lotus or siṃhāsan.

    1. Their light is cool like the full moon, but very bright and pure.
    2. Around those feet, many devas are bowing.

Their crowns have big jewels, but compared to Bhagwān’s light, those jewels look small and dull.

    Mentally repeat, very simply:

    > “In charanoṅ meṅ koī rāg–dveṣ nahīṅ, > ye keval śuddh, apār jñān–darshan kā prakāsh hai.”

    ---

    Step 4 – Darkness of pāp-karmas melting

    Now imagine:

    1. In your own heart there is dark smoke –

symbol of anger, greed, deceit, ego, violence, etc.

    1. From Bhagwān’s feet a white, gentle light slowly comes towards you.
    2. As this light touches your heart, that dark smoke starts melting and disappearing.

    With each exhalation, think:

    > “Mere mithyātva, krodh, mān, māyā, lobh > thodā–thodā kam ho rahā hai.”

    You can also repeat slowly:

    > “दलित-पाप-तमो-वितानम् – > Bhagwān ke charan mere pāp-andhakār ko tod rahe haiṅ.”

Stay with this image for 1–2 minutes, breathing slowly.

    ---

    Step 5 – Saṃsār-sāgar and sahārā

    Now bring to mind:

    1. The ocean of saṃsār – births, deaths, worries, fears, attachment.

Imagine you are in this huge, restless ocean.

    1. The water is moving strongly – these are your karmas and passions.
    2. In the middle of this ocean, you see a firm, golden pillar of light –

this is Jinendra Bhagwān ke charan.

    Think:

    > “Main iss bhav-sāgar meṅ ḍubtā nahīṅ, > Bhagwān ke charan mere liye sahārā haiṅ.”

Visualise yourself holding that pillar of light with both hands:

    • Your mind becomes steady,
    • Fear reduces,
    • A feeling of safety and śānti arises.

    Silently repeat once:

    > “वालम्बनं भवजले पततां जनानाम् – > ‘Bhavjal meṅ ḍubte jīvoṅ ke liye ye charan sahārā haiṅ. > Main bhi in charanoṅ ko sahārā banātā/bantī hūṅ.’”

    ---

Step 6 – Feeling deep gratitude

    Now, in your heart:

    • Bow mentally to those feet, as if touching them with your forehead.
    • Feel vinay (humility) and kṛtajñatā (gratitude):

    > “Hey Jinendra Bhagwān! > Aap kisi se kuchh nahīṅ chīnte, na kisī se dveṣ rakhte. > Phir bhi ham sab dukhī jīvoṅ ke liye > āpke charan ek majbūt sahārā bane huye haiṅ. > Main āpko vinay-pūrvak naman kartā/kartī hūṅ.”

Stay silent for 5–10 breaths, only watching the calm feeling.

    ---

Step 7 – Closing the dhyān

    1. Slowly bring your attention back to your body and breathing.
    2. Join both hands in namaskār mudrā.
    3. Once more, recite the 1st gāthā slowly, with full bhāv.
    4. End with:

    > “Micchāmi Dukkaḍaṃ” – > asking forgiveness for any faults in recitation or dhyān.

    Then gently open your eyes.

    ---

    5. How long and how often?

    • Start with 5–10 minutes daily, preferably morning, after snātra / snān.
    • Over time, you can:
    - Repeat the 1st sutra 11, 21, or 51 times, - And keep the same dhyān-bhāv as above.

    ---

    6. For further simple reading

You can read more about Bhaktāmar Stotra, its meaning and practice here: “Bhaktamer stotra meaning and when to recite”

And a gāthā-wise explanation summary here: “Explain bhaktambar meaning gatha wise”

You can use this same pattern later for doing dhyān on other Bhaktāmar gāthās also.
